Katy Perry has spoken out on claims that she is actually JonBenét Ramsey.
Six-year-old Ramsey was sadly killed at home on December 26, 1996. Her case, to this day, remains unsolved.
The horrific murder gripped the nation due to how brutal the attack was and the mystery surrounding it.
The beauty pageant star had been sexually assaulted and violently murdered. Her parents, John and Patsy, found a ransom note in their home but things took a horrific turn when they found their daughter’s body in the basement of their home the same day.
A Netflix doc was released last year all about the case. Directed by Joe Berlinger, the documentary is a deep-dive into the heartbreaking crime scene.
Fans of true crime were shocked to discover that her father, John, received a letter that ‘named his daughter’s killer’.
The now 81-year-old still pushes for answers on what happened to his child.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: “Solving the case is not going to change my life at this point … but it’ll change my children’s lives, my grandchildren’s lives,”
“They need to have this cloud removed, clarified, and an answer.”
John revealed that he was given a letter from a woman who claimed to be the ex-wife of the alleged killer. He said: “Based on all this publicity, recently I got a letter from a lady saying, ‘My ex-husband’s the killer, and I’ve kept this inside for as long as I can – please, please call me,’”
He noted that he had tried to get in touch with the sender but he had no luck.
“We reached out to her, but she didn’t answer the phone. So, I don’t know. We’ve shared [the information] at this point with a private investigator.”
In the doc, Berlinger criticized the work of the Colorado police for their lack of experience in murder investigations at the time.
One person took to social media, writing: “This case and Caylee Anthony case still haunts me to this day. So damn sad. I wish those angels got the justice they deserved.”
Now, in an unexpected turn of events, a rumor gained traction that ‘Firework‘ hit maker, Katy Perry, is the real JonBenét.
In 2014, the theory gained momentum online, with some claiming that Patsy and John were Perry’s real parents.
The singer somewhat resembles the child but what theorists failed to notice, is that Perry is five years older than the child would be today.
After an AI-generated video of a photo morphing from the child to Perry, the singer has responded to the rumors.
The singer allegedly said: “Wait am i.”
